The Atago Digital Dip Style PEN SERIES Refractometer is a portable, easy-to-use handheld refractometer designed for measuring the refractive index or Brix (sugar concentration) of liquids. These refractometers are part of the Atago PEN series, which are specifically engineered for simple, quick, and accurate measurements in various industries. Their dip-style design makes them convenient for measuring liquids directly without the need for a sample holder.
One step closer to maximum efficiency
Degrees Brix is the sugar content of an aqueous solution. One degree Brix is 1 gram of sucrose in 100 grams of solution and represents the strength of the solution as a percentage by mass. If the solution contains dissolved solids other than pure sucrose, then the °Bx only approximates the dissolved solid content.

The PEN-PRO has a measurement range of Brix 0.0 to 85.0% which can be used to measure almost any sample. There are 2 ways to measure with the PEN-PRO. Either dip the tip into the sample and press the START key OR press the START key and touch the tip into the sample. There is also the new feature to perform continuous measurements. The temperature range of the "Dip-Type" Refractometer PEN-PRO has been improved from 60˚C to 100˚C. No more wait ! Measure hot samples while in the cooking process, such as soups and sauces. |

The PEN-SW(W) is suitable for measuring the concentration of salt in water. The unit of measurement is in g/100g. Brine is a high-concentration solution of salt (NaCl) in water (H2O). In different contexts, brine may refer to salt solutions ranging from about 3.5% (a typical concentration of seawater, on the lower end of solutions used for brining foods) up to about 26% (a typical saturated solution, depending on temperature). |
