The Stomacher® 3500 Thermo Bioreactor is used in the pork industry to prepare samples for the detection of Trichinella.

The machine has a heater element inside the door and the samples of pork meat are digested inside the Stomacher® bag with enzyme and HCI acid. The resultant slurry is sieved and examined under microscopy for the presence of the Trichinella parasite.

The Stomacher® 3500 Thermo Bioreactor is compatible with a range of Stomacher® bags. The BA6042 Standard 3500 bag (60 microns), suits standard operations. The BA6042/HD Heavy Duty bag is designed to serve resilient applications with a greater bag thickness of 80 microns. As well as the latest in innovation, the new Autoclavable Stomacher® 3500 bag is the first paddle blender bag designed to be autoclavable for sterility methods post-testing.
