Type A table-top units are manufactured as compact units with attached control housing. The entire surface of the glass ceamic top plate is heated by a special radiant heating element. The temperature range is adjustable from 50...500°C. Four feet, adjustable in height by approx. 8 mm, allow a wobble-free and horizontal set-up.
Glass ceramic hotplates
The extraordinary glass ceramic material made by Schott withstands even the most extreme conditions. It is highly breakproof, resistant to temperature changes, free of distortion and pores, easy to clean, absolutely flat and highly acidresistant.
Construction: The low mass glass ceramic plate is electrically heated over its full surface and bedded into a stainless-steel frame which is mounted on an internally insulated stainlesssteel housing.
The temperature control system consists of an electronic regulator, activated by a NiCr-Ni temperature sensor (adjustable 50 ... 500°C) installed in an aluminium pressure cast housing. Heat-up time to 500°C in 8 minutes. Four feet, which can be individually adjusted to an approximate height of 8 mm to ensure horizontal stability. Type 4A/SR has four supporting rod holders (distance 100 mm) In Types SR and EBC, the electrical connection between the control housing and the hotplate is protected by a flexible metal hose
