Daicel 33791 CHIRALPAK® CBH Protein Based Chiral HPLC Guard Cartridges, 2mm, 10mm, 5µm (2 per package)
We recommend the use of a guard cartridge, in order to protect the analytical column from impurities with high affinity and particulate impurities. The guard cartridge should be replaced regularly; otherwise the column performance can be affected. This is of special importance in bioanalysis.
For compounds of acidic category, however, it is preferred to use CHIRALPAK® AGP and CHIRALPAK® HSA columns

CHIRALPAK CBH
- The chiral selector is Cellobiohydrolase (CBH). This is a stable enzyme, which has been immobilized onto 5 micrometer spherical silica particles.
- CHIRALPAK®CBH is used for the separation of enantiomers of basic drugs from many compound classes. CHIRALPAK®CBH separates preferentially compounds containing one or more basic nitrogen's together with one or more hydrogen accepting or hydrogen donating groups (alcohol, phenol, carbonyl, amide, ether, sulphoxide, ester etc.).
Parameters
Filler particle size | CHIRALPAK ® CBH: of 5 m |
---|---|
PH | PH 2.0 to 9.0 |
temperature | 20 to 30 ° C |
The solvent was stored | The H 2 O / 2-Propanol = 85/15 (V / V) |
Precautions for storage | In order to prevent high temperature and lead to protein denaturation, damage to the separation of chiral column capacity, it is recommended to save in the refrigerator (4 ℃) |

CHIRALPAK ® CBH
Silica surface covalently bonded cellobiohydrolase
CBH is a protein-bonded chiral column, the surface of which is covalently bound to cellobiohydrolase.
Cellobiohydrolase (CBH) is a stable enzyme which has been immobolized onto 5µm spherical silica particles creating the chiral stationary phase in the Chiral-CBH column. This is also a reversed phase column, used for the direct separation of enantiomers. The column is preferentially used for the separation of the enantiomers of basic drugs from many compound classesSuitable for inverting systems.
Scope of application:
The isolated compounds are preferably primary and secondary amines containing benzene ring structures . It is
not necessary to have hydrogen bonding groups. However, the molecular junction structure if the hydrogen-bonding groups containing, for example, a carbonyl group , an alcoholic hydroxyl group, amide, sulfoxide groups, which will result in better enantioselectivity.
Chromatographic Conditions
The mobile phases are buffer solutions with a relatively low content of uncharged organic modifier. Note! Do not use charged organic modifiers in the mobile phase. The mobile phases are mixtures of phosphate or acetate buffers and organic solvents as 2-propanol or acetonitrile. The retention and the enantioselectivity can be regulated by changes in pH, buffer concentration and organic modifier (nature and concentration).
Storage Conditions
The column should be used at room temperature or below. When the column is stored for long periods of time it is recommended to fill with 10% 2-propanol in distilled water and place it in the refrigerator.
Cleaning of the Column
If the column has been contaminated, wash the column over night with 10% 2-propanol in distilled water at a flow rate of 0.2mL/min
