How It Works:

The Atago PAL Alcohol Refractometer uses the principle of refractive index measurement. Alcohol and other dissolved solids like sugars or minerals affect the way light is refracted as it passes through a sample. By measuring how the light bends, the device calculates the alcohol concentration or other dissolved components in the liquid.

  1. Sample Placement: A few drops of the liquid are placed on the prism.
  2. Light Refraction: The light from the refractometer passes through the sample, and the refracted light is detected by the device.
