Atago HHR-2N Hand-Held Honey Refractometer
The Atago 2522 HHR-2N Hand-Held Honey Refractometer is a precision optical instrument designed for measuring the sugar concentration or the Brix of honey. It is widely used in the food industry, particularly in honey testing, to ensure the quality of honey and determine its authenticity or sugar content.
The honey refractometer is specially designed to determine the percentage of water contained in honey by means of the refractive index.
Application:
- Honey Quality Control: Used by beekeepers, honey producers, and food manufacturers to measure the sugar content and moisture levels of honey to ensure it meets specific quality standards.
- Purity Testing: Can help detect adulteration in honey (e.g., by added sugars) by comparing the Brix values against known standards for pure honey

How It Works:
The refractometer works by measuring the refraction of light as it passes through a honey sample. The refraction index changes based on the sugar content in the honey, and the device calculates the concentration in terms of Brix, which is a percentage of sugar in the solution.
