The naming of the current Heidolph rotary evaporator series has stood the test of time. lt does not only help to easily identify to which product category a device belongs - "evaporation" > "Hei-VAP" -, but it also facilitates the entry into Heidolph's world of premium laboratory equipment by clearly categorizing the units: From the entry-level device with basic functionalities (Core). via a version with extended functions (Expert) to the high-end device with sophisticated features for superior requirements (Ultimate).

From January 1st, 2022, further product categories and devices are to be officially introduced step by step according to this concept. Our motivation is to provide you an excellent service, and we believe that this sustainable and harmonized renaming is a step in the right direction.

Chiral Technologies Introduces CHIRALPAK® IJ – DAICEL’s Newest Immobilized Chiral Selector offering more flexibility for screening and method development conditions.

West Chester, Pa: Chiral Technologies, Inc. today announces the addition of CHIRALPAK® IJ, its newest immobilized chiral stationary phase (CSP) from DAICEL Corporation. CHIRALPAK IJ is the immobilized version of DAICEL’s popular coated phase, CHIRALCEL® OJ.

CHIRALPAK IJ is a cellulose polymer derivatized with tris(4-methylbenzoate) moieties. Coated phases like CHIRALCEL OJ are susceptible to degradation from incompatible mobile phases while the immobilized CHIRALPAK IJ is:

• optimized for use under both SFC and HPLC conditions
• more chemically resilient than its coated polysaccharide phase, which allows for a longer column lifetime
• compatible with a wider range of mobile phases, which provides more thorough and complete screening and method development conditions

It has been reported that rubbing alcohol (70%) is effective for disinfecting skin such as hands *. However, it is said that there is no effect unless it exceeds 70%. In addition, too high alcohol concentration may cause rough skin, so it is important to use at an appropriate concentration.

*The standard of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is 60% or more. The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare recommends 70% or more. Also, CDC recommends 70% or more for disinfecting the surface of objects.
